Kyrgyzstan is a mountainous territory, in which 94% of the region is occupied by mountains. With an average elevation of 2,750m above sea level, Kyrgyzstan offers a continental climate.

Temperatures can either get very cold in the winter, or extremely hot in the summer.

Temperature also depends on the altitude of the location; cooler at higher altitudes, warmer at lower altitudes.

With this mountain range, Kyrgyzstan’s temperature can change dramatically within the same day. For example, during late August, temperatures can be as high as 30°C in the afternoon, while dropping to 10°C in evening.
